Five -Ten Years from now what will your regrets be?

There used to be a drunk by the NCCF family house in
uyo. he was a cobbler but lived on cigareettes and
booze. he was tattered, dirty and unkempt. heavily
malnourished and in bad shape. many atimes, he
would lie on the pavement outside the family house
and had NYSC kits.. i was in uyo for over a year and i met him in that situation. yet, in my tenure. we spent
over a million naira on rural rugged for the rural
dwellers in the interior parts of akwaibom yet we
didnt spend one naira on this man who was our
closest neighbour. we had a lot of GENCO meeetings,
but he didnt fit to come up on our agenda. we could not keep the simplest commandment to love our
neighbours as ourselves. we could not feed the
hungry and clothe the naked just within our vicinity.
we had a lot of morning cries without cries and
travailings in prayer for souls. i now wonder if we
ever accomplished anything as corpers in that season.... we didnt give him the gospel,we diddnt
give him care or show concern. at least if he was
going to hell, couldnt we have rescued him despite
our vast pool of resources and people, for over a
year. My predecessors may have also seen him in that
state for many years and like the "PRIEST" and "LEVITE" crossed to the other side to engage in more
pressing "SPIRITUAL MATTERS". i remember that we
had even chased him out on many occasionss when
he came to fetch water in rags. he posed a threat to
us rather than a pathetic case that needed salvation. I
passed out in february, he was still in the same shape. I left uyo in april...same shape. I came to uyo
again for the state conference on june 4th and
behold on june 5th, a vehicle knocked him down just
in front of the NCCF FAMILY HOUSE and splattered his
blood for us to see on the highway, a reminder to us
if we are not actually wasting the BLOOD OF JESUS too. He died a few days later though the NCCF arranged
for him to be taken to the hospital and footed the
hospital bills.............can you see the irony....have we
not replaced natural and physical activities and tasks
for spiritual issues? ............. behold i grieve this
morning, i wonder if the man( we did not even know his name) is not calling on my name and your name
today if he is on the way to hell for i knew he was not
saved unless he was without my knowledge. we
condemned him, society condemned him and alas
the CHURCH OF CHRIST(SUPPOSED) also condemned
and forgot about him....... pls dont mind my grammar and punctuation errors for we are to much
concerned about them and church doctrines,
theology and administration nowadays than we are
burdened for the salvation of a SOUL for whom
CHRIST GAVE HIS LIFE AND SHED HIS PRECIOUS
BLOOD!!!!!!
